Dr. Strube is a physician, with over thirty years combined experience in family practice and administrative medicine. As a health care insider, he developed a unique perspective on and solutions for the challenges of both medical care delivery and financing.
He retired after 15 years as a health insurance company executive, serving as a medical director for various managed care organizations (MCOs). Following retirement, he and his wife Kathy moved aboard his sailing catamaran, Millennium Dragon. They cruised the Intra-Costal Waterway from Charleston South Carolina, to St. Petersburg Florida, spending months at a time in the Bahamas and Florida Keys.
The health care reform debate pulled him out of retirement. He began writing Discovering the Cause and the Cure for America’s Health Care Crisis in February 2009. The book was published in April 2011. Dr. Strube lives with his wife on Florida’s west coast, in Punta Gorda.
